Aussie Title Assault

Feb 18th 08

Rob and the team at Outback Express have spent the last couple of weeks getting the assault plan finalized and action plan underway to have the Formaction Pontiac Grand Prix freshened and dressed up ready to do battle at the most important meeting of the year, the National title which this year is being held in Mildura in Victoria over the 7,8,9th March.

With the logistics for such an event being the main game for most teams traveling to compete, things such as getting the car & transporter there, arranging flights and accommodation for those in the team who have limited time available due to work commitments, ensuring tyres, fuel and all the spares are either in the truck or arranged to be available in Mildura, the list goes on and thanks to Robs Mum Yvonne and his wife Rebecca most of the hard things have been sorted and the team logistics are in good shape.

Check the sheet.

  • People – all accounted for travel & beds
  • Transporter -- Washed, polished, serviced, genset checked & spares packed, all that is left. Load the car.
  • Car – new body, engine serviced, springs, shocks, electrics,  new roof number (54 for the title) and finally check each and every bolt & nut to ensure they are tight. This will be a lot of nights before the car heads off to be freshly signwritten for the event including the following list of businesses and sponsors who have come onboard to help out for this title assault and beyond.
    • A – Z Panel and Paint
    • Reliance Petroleum
    • A.N. Home Repairs
    • Hoops Plumbing
    • Canning Pool and Pump centre

With the assistance of these new supporters together with our existing long term supporters the outback express team are looking to be at the pointy end of the field when the checkered flag falls at the national title in a few weeks.

Hopefully we will
